Digging Japan
Our second trip to Tokyo record stores proved very rewarding with some reasonably priced recycled gems in amazing condition hitting the crates today!
We thought we would share a few digs and tips for storing, carrying and transporting records. We travelled to Narita airport via Jetstar, taking two empty DJ travel cases with us and booking the maximum 40kgs luggage per person for the return trip, this with ‘special’ records carried on board allowed us the bring around 250 records back into Australia. TIP: make sure any travel bags can fit into the train station lockers which have a maximum storage time of 3 days. We used ‘Vinyl Hub’ to locate specific stores near where we were. The records are priced much the same as you would find them locally – but the selection is unbelievable and the condition is always ‘excellent’! Happy digging!

Record Paradise Garage Sale
This weekend is the Record Paradise Garage Sale – with over 12000 records on offer priced at $1 each! There will also be a selection of posters, CDs, Tapes, DVDs, Videos and various music related stuff. This is a sale to recycle all our unwanted, damaged, overstock and is mainly Nostalgia, Classical, Soundtracks n Showtunes, Compilations and overly popular artists, priced at $1 for a reason! This said many records are in mint condition and there are gems to be found in the DIG. If you are looking for a bargain or keen to get your hands on some records to recycle this is your chance!
Royal Headache – HIGH
Royal Headache have released an amazing new record on their own label Distant & Vague. It is called High and is a powerful connection of music and words delivered by the band in a soulful punk rock explosion. It’s ‘HIGH’s and lows shunt you along the journey to the top of the hill! This is an important record for our country and the people who love to live and rock amongst it! Royal Headache are currently touring the USA! Can’t wait to see some live versions of these great songs!
Digging Tokyo
Paul and I recently spent a few days in Tokyo checking out a few of the hundreds of record stores with a view to return to buy some classic indie and new wave vinyl for Record Paradise. We were blown away by the quality, prices and number of records available and carried as many back as we could manage! They are available to browse and purchase NOW!
